About the Book
ELF Readers comprises five sets of eight books carefully designed
to permit maximum use of a child’s spoken language as an aid to
beginning and developing reading.
The sets are arranged in gradually increasing levels of language
difficulty but still retain the meaning focus of the program as
outlined in the teacher notes.
Structure of the ELF Readers
The ELF Readers consist of two major groups of books:
1. 40 eight page little books designed for basic reading instruction.
2. Five Big Books (525mm x 374mm), 20 pages, for enriching the
instruction based on the small books.
• A comprehensive teachers guide with supporting student worksheets
for each little book.
Language Patterns
• Sets A to B of the ELF Books are aimed at the very beginning
levels of reading
• Sets C to E are built upon the sentence patterns developed in
Sets A to B, but they extend the language used by having a greater
amount of text.
